On November 1, NYLAG volunteer Erica Kyzmir received the Distinguished Service Award from the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program.

In recognition of National Pro Bono Celebration Week, Access to Justice held an awards ceremony to honor outstanding and dedicated volunteer attorneys.

Working within the Volunteer Lawyer for the Day – Consumer Credit Project, Ms. Kyzmir has helped countless clients protect their rights against debt collectors. Since receiving the award, she has joined NYLAG’s General Legal Services Unit as a part-time attorney.

The New York County Lawyers’ Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York joined in honoring the volunteers for their pro bono service. Fern Fisher, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge and Director of Access to Justice, presented the awards.
