David Michael Falcon, Staff Attorney, Veterans Assistance Project, Public Benefits

David is a staff attorney at NYLAG, working on the Veterans Assistance Project. He handles individual veterans’ cases, mostly in the substantive legal areas of VA benefits, other public benefits such Medicaid and food stamps, housing, consumer, and advance directives, and planning. In addition, he coordinates with veterans groups and other community-based organizations serving veterans to promote NYLAG’s services, establish community-based clinics, and implement referral processes. Originally, David worked with NYLAG as one of the first clinical interns of the Economic Justice Clinic. Prior to joining NYLAG, he was a summer associate at the Legal Aid Society Queens Neighborhood Office. David is also a Staff Sergeant in the New York Air National Guard where he serves as a Quality Assurance Inspector with the 109th Airlift Wing in their support of Operation Deep Freeze, which provides C-130 transport to and from Antarctica. He graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2011.
