Jonathan is a Supervising Attorney in the Tenants’ Rights Unit where he represents Brooklyn tenants facing eviction. Prior to that, Jonathan served as a Supervising Attorney in NYLAG’s Storm Response Unit representing Sandy-affected families in consumer-related legal matters, such as contractor fraud, mechanics liens, disaster-related tax issues, and in lawsuits filed against consumers by contractors. Before joining NYLAG, Jonathan worked at The Financial Clinic where he handled consumer law cases for low-income New Yorkers and survivors of domestic violence in the areas of foreclosure defense, debt collection defense, tax, and bankruptcy. At The Financial Clinic, he also created and facilitated interactive financial development and consumer law trainings and webinars and developed companion written materials for practitioners nationwide, including domestic violence advocates, housing counselors, and financial coaches. Prior to that, Jonathan worked as a staff attorney at the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Jonathan graduated from the University Connecticut School of Law with high honors and holds his BA from Columbia University.
