Juan is a General Legal Services intake specialist and paralegal case handler with NYLAG’s Public Benefits Practice. Prior to joining NYLAG, he worked with various civil and legal organizations including the New York Immigration Coalition, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the New York Civil Liberties Union. Before moving to New York, he helped organize farmworkers in California’s Central Valley for comprehensive immigration reform and even spent some time in private equity. Juan is a graduate of Brown University where he studied Philosophy and Political Science and volunteered with several prison literacy projects throughout the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.
