Kevin Thomas is the Coordinating Attorney for NYLAG’s Bronx Volunteer Lawyer for A Day – Consumer Protection located in the Bronx County Civil Court. This project matches volunteer attorneys and law students trained in consumer law with unrepresented defendants sued in particular types of consumer law matters. The volunteer lawyers provide limited-scope representation for the day of the defendants’ court appearance. Kevin supervises all volunteers and runs the project out of our Bronx Civil Court Office. Kevin is also a project attorney for the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) project. Through this program, Kevin provides legal support, advice, and referrals to OFE financial counselors and assists clients with complex consumer financial issues. He serves on the Board of Trustees to Merrick Academy- Queens Public Charter School.
Prior to joining NYLAG, Kevin worked for the Senior Executive Counsel for General Electric Energy Division in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He has also worked as a civilian for the New York City Police Department and the Office of New York City Council Member Peter Vallone, Jr. Kevin is a graduate of Western Michigan Cooley Law School, and he received his undergraduate from St. John’s University. Kevin is admitted to the State of New York, the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York.
