The Senior Advocacy Project strives to improve the quality of life for seniors affected by health issues. The program provides onsite legal services at the hospitals or community-based programs where seniors receive their medical care.

NYLAG’s LegalHealth division has designed a training curriculum that teaches healthcare professionals treating the elderly how to screen and refer patients effectively, as well as how to participate in advocacy efforts. Through the Senior Advocacy Project, many more seniors receive legal assistance in the same setting where they obtain essential medical services — making it more accessible, and incorporating their healthcare professionals into the advocacy effort.
