Transcript: NYLAG pioneered community-based lawyering, and today we partner with over 600 agencies across the city. In more than three quarters (3/4) of all civil trials in the United States, at least one litigant does not have a lawyer. Last year, NYLAG improved the lives of 87,000 New Yorkers.

Even through New York State and City funding has increased dramatically, only 37% of the legal needs of low-income people are being met.

Equal access to legal representation is essential to combating discrimination, ending poverty, and creating opportunity.

But we can’t do it alone. NYLAG’s work depends on generous donations from our community. Donate today.
