Project Director of the Public Housing Justice Project
Anna Luft is the Project Director of the Public Housing Justice Project (PHJP) at New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG). As Project Director, Anna created and leads the first team of legal advocates in New York City solely devoted to advancing the rights of public housing tenants. Under Anna’s leadership, PHJP provides eviction defense, affirmative litigation, policy advocacy, and community clinics to the New York public housing community. Before coming to NYLAG, Anna was a staff attorney on the Collateral Consequences Team at Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, where she represented systems-impacted clients in a wide range of related civil matters. Anna’s writing has appeared in the New York Daily News, and City Limits.
