Daphne Schlick
Director, Consumer Protection Unit
In her role at NYLAG, Daphne oversees the Foreclosure Prevention Project, The Office of Financial Empowerment’s Debt Collection Project, and the Access to Justice of the NY State Courts’ Volunteer Lawyer For a Day Project (VLFD) in the Bronx, Queens, and Richmond counties. She is also a vocal public advocate for consumer economic justice and legislative
change, both through local NYC coalition groups and a variety of community workshop presentations. Daphne previously practiced family law at Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation legal services, representing survivors of intimate violence in their orders of protection, custody, and visitation proceedings, as well as advocating for survivors’ consumer rights. She also previously interned at NYLAG’s Family Law Unit. Daphne has worked for a variety of government and nonprofit agencies, including the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the Legal Aid Society, the Anti-Defamation League, and the Chicago Public Arts Group.
