Sara Rodriguez

Director of Communications

Sara Rodriguez oversees NYLAG’s communications to increase organizational visibility, facilitate strategic growth, and fundamentally change narratives around people experiencing poverty, particularly by influencing media and external partners to frame our clients’ experiences as results of systemic injustices. Prior to joining NYLAG, she developed and executed comprehensive external affairs and messaging strategies for political campaigns at federal, state, and local levels of government, issue-based advocacy campaigns, and nonprofit organizations, namely in her work at Slingshot Strategies, the New York City Council, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s 2020 presidential campaign, the office of State Senator Mike Gianaris, and Day One NY.
