lgbtq rights

Despite gains in recent decades for LGBTQ rights, queer and transgender people still face discrimination.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities—especially communities of color, transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, immigrants, and youth—are disproportionately living in poverty and being targeted for violence. Additionally, institutional homophobia and transphobia create barriers to housing, health care, public benefits, employment, and financial stability.
