NYLAG submits comments on changes to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

NYLAG submitted comments to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau opposing proposed rule seeking to amend the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). 

NYLAG urges the Bureau to strengthen the proposed rules to protect consumers. The proposed rules would allow debt collectors to engage in abusive behavior in contravention of the purpose of the FDCPA.
