Our Approach
We work closely with experts across practice areas to understand the legal challenges in the communities served by NYLAG. We craft unique volunteer opportunities that provide a range of services, including, screening, intake, pro se assistance, advice and counsel, brief services, and limited and full representation. We strategically pair skilled volunteers with appropriate opportunities to yield a meaningful volunteer experience and quality services for clients. We bear in mind the tremendous diversity of our client population and mentor our volunteers to be culturally sensitive. Our volunteers help us expand our reach and strengthen our impact as we strive to remove the barriers caused by poverty, as well as racial, social, and economic injustice.
Get involved and give back.
Help us provide free legal help to people with low-income and in need of a lawyer.
